Homework is a New Zealand property tech startup building what we describe as LinkedIn for homes. Homeowners quietly claim their property, decide when they're open to buyer interest, and get notified when the right buyer is looking. Buyers discover off-market opportunities they'd never see on the portals. It's the alternative for the huge chunk of the market that's curious about their home's value and demand but doesn't want to commit to a marketing campaign, open homes, and strangers walking through the house just to find out. Auckland-based, growing weekly and backed. Going nationwide by end of 2026. Small team, big ambition, a category we're carving out from scratch. Who we're after: Someone senior enough to have opinions, and hands-on enough to ship every day. Roughly 5+ years, and you've built something real with proper auth and payments behind it. You're AI-native. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, whatever you reach for, it's how you work now and you're fast because of it. Just as importantly, you know where the model gets it wrong and you catch it before it ships. We want the speed, not the mess. You'll be working directly with me as founder, day to day. Comfortable explaining tradeoffs in plain English, pushing back when I'm wrong, and owning the decisions inside your patch. Stack Next.js, Supabase, Vercel, PostHog. Security and infrastructure are handled by our long-term technical partner, so you get to focus on product. What's in it: Competitive salary, and ESOP on the table for the right person.
