Resident Doctor - ENT - Bay of Plenty

The Role There are two hospitals in the region, Whakatānehospital has 110 beds, and Tauranga Hospital with 359 beds.The Medical Service provides specialist services across the Bay of Plenty district, which incorporates two hospital sites in Tauranga and Whakatāne (1 hour drive down the coast), delivering general internal medicine inpatient and outpatient services, plus a range of subspeciality services. This role will be based at Tauranga Hospital (359 bed, Level 2 Hospital). You will work as an integral member of the ENT team, providing care to a population of approximately 308,000.You will gain exposure to a broad range of ENT presentations and will work alongside highly skilled specialists committed to delivering excellent patient-centred care. The post offers valuable opportunities for learning, outpatient and inpatient exposure, theatre time, and involvement in multidisciplinary team discussions. This role is ideally suited to doctors with a long-term interest in ENT. There is a focus on Māori health and a strong commitment to closing the gaps and reducing health inequalities by re-designing pathways with Māori (who make up 25.6% of the region’s population), to promote better access to healthcare services. About You We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated doctor who: Demonstrates a genuine interest in ENT as a career Broad surgical exposure through foundation training and/or 6 months experience within General Surgery Is proactive, adaptable and committed to high-quality learning Communicates effectively and thrives in a multidisciplinary team environment The Location Tauranga is one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing and most desirable cities.
