Sacred Heart College (Lower Hutt) Wellington Full time, Permanent Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher Te reo Māori Te reo Māori TIC 1MU / Kapa Haka 2MMA We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed kaiako to join our languages department in the role of teacher in charge Te Reo Māori, commencing at the start of Term 1 2027. Please state other subjects. This role includes: Teaching Te Ao Haka Years 12-13 Leading our Kapa Haka group/s. This responsibility comes with an allowance of 2MMA. The applicant will have proven capability in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga, with strong classroom practice. They will have knowledge of Te Ao Haka / Māori Performing Arts, and have experience coaching/leading kapa haka or performance groups, along with strengths in building relationships with ākonga, whānau and tangata whenua. They will be able to contribute to an inclusive and supportive environment and be able to demonstrate commitment to honour the principles of Te Tiriti Waitangi and the College's values of Mana Atua, Mana Tangata, Mana Tīpuna, Mana Whenua, and Mana Mātauranga. Involvement with the College's extracurricular programme is also expected. The successful applicant will be expected to recognise and respect the school’s Catholic special character and be actively involved in the total life of the school, in a manner which respects the religious instruction given and religious observances practiced within the school.
