Our Macraes Open Pit Geology team are on the hunt for aSenior Geologist. This is adrive in, drive out opportunity from nearby Dunedin or Oamaru, each with stunning landscapes, adventures and beaches to explore! For the more adventurous, Queenstown is just a 3 hour drive, offering endless amounts of exciting activities (skiing, hiking, water sports, fishing and more) to enjoy on your daysoff. Working an 8 days on, 6 days off daytime only roster, this role will ensure day to day geology resources are optimised (including contractor drilling activities) to meet the mining schedule by providing geological and grade control input into the short, medium and long-term schedules to maximise ore recovery and goldproduction. As asenior, this position will help mentor more junior geologists, passing down knowledge and experience. Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, training and professional development will be provided to ensure efficient and effective performance ofduties. Key Responsibilities: Ensure best practice techniques are used for defining the ore zone, minimisingdilution Provide regular updated and accurate resource and geologicalmodels Complete monthly reconciliations Supervise and review GC models and oreblocking Understand the procedures and processes involved with managing people and apply them appropriately to differentsituations Share wisdom, knowledge and experience with team to encourage increased performance Provide leadership and coaching to establish astrong culture of continuous improvement Coach, support and develop the team to build knowledge and skills to provide coverage and to build successionplans Build and maintain effective relationships in order to retain ahigh-performance workforce through engagement, communication andmotivation. Qualifications A degree in geology is essential. Honours or postgraduate qualification would be highlyregarded Full and Current Driver Licence.
