About us He kupu mō mātou Established in 1967, our Te Rapa site is one of Fonterra’s largest manufacturing sites and produces whole and skim milk, instant whole milk powders along with cream, butter, pure dairy milk fat, cream cheese, and frozen cream products. At 41 hectares, the site makes enough product to fill 48.5 shipping containers every day! About the Opportunity Mō tēnei tūranga As Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in translating business strategy into operational excellence across the site. Leading the Site Maintenance, Utilities and Services teams, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance and long-term sustainability of site assets while enabling safe, efficient and high-quality operations. This is a highly visible leadership position where you\'ll provide strategic oversight of engineering, maintenance, facilities and capital projects. You\'ll drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimise asset performance, manage significant operational and capital budgets, and foster a culture of safety, accountability and innovation. Working closely with site leadership and key stakeholders, you will ensure engineering services support the achievement of operational, financial, environmental and food safety objectives. With responsibility for asset management, site infrastructure, contractor management and capital delivery, you\'ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on site performance while developing high-performing teams and building capability for the future. About You Mōu We\'re looking for an experienced engineering leader who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and a passion for developing people. You Will Bring A tertiary qualification in Engineering (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or similar). Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing, processing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of asset management, maintenance strategies and plant performance optimisation. Experience managing operational and capital budgets, business planning and investment decisions. Demonstrated success leading change, continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives. The ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders, contractors and cross-functional teams. Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritise projects and resources to deliver business outcomes. A commitment to health, safety, wellbeing, food safety and quality, with the ability to embed these standards into everyday operations. A collaborative leadership style that empowers teams, builds capability and drives high performance. Most importantly, you\'ll be a strategic and people-focused leader who can balance long-term asset planning with day-to-day operational demands while creating an environment where teams can thrive and deliver exceptional results.
