Job Description
You will lead and supervise our Roster and Operations team, ensuring timely, accurate rostering support across our Mental Health and Disability services. You’ll balance day-to-day coordination with light strategic input - supporting onboarding, shift allocations, training and development, and continuous improvement, all while helping us deliver quality, person-centred support. Hours This role is 80 hours per fortnight based in our Palmerston North Office What you’ll do Provide day-to-day supervision and coordination of the Roster and Operations team Create and maintain staff rosters across a busy, multi-site operational environment Proactively identify gaps and secure cover at short notice Build strong relationships with Service Managers, Operations, and Enabling Services Communicate roster information, changes, risks, and updates clearly and confidently Support recruitment, onboarding, and training and development of Roster and Operations staff Keep systems, records, and reporting accurate, up to date, and fit for purpose Contribute operational insights and support continuous improvement initiatives Skills and Experience: Experience supervising or coordinating operational teams, ideally in rostering or scheduling Relevant tertiary qualification or 3+ years’ experience in a similar role Strong organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail Great communication skills and confidence managing difficult conversations Proven problem-solving ability and sound judgement under pressure Experience in healthcare, disability, or community services is an advantage An understanding of tikanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and its relevance to our work What we offer: A supportive and collaborative team environment Meaningful work that makes a real difference Opportunities for learning and development A varied leadership role with real opportunity to shape service improvements An organisation committed to person-centred care and continuous improvement If you’re an experienced coordinator or supervisor who thrives in a busy environment and wants to lead a team delivering quality services to our communities, we’d love to hear from you!
