People & Capability Advisor Whanganui, New Zealand Reference: 6914963 Are you an experienced HR generalist looking for a flexible role in a supportive and community-focused organisation? Whanganui District Council is seeking a People & Capability Advisor to join our People & Capability team on a part time basis (approximately 30 hours per week with flexibility on when these are worked within business hours). This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working across a broad range of people matters and is ready to hit the ground running, providing practical advice and support to managers and employees. Working alongside our fun and collaborative People & Capability team you'll support recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, organisational change initiatives and workforce reporting. What you'll bring To be successful in this role, you'll have: At least 2-3 years' experience in an HR Advisory role. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation. Experience supporting recruitment, employee relations and people processes. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, recognising the importance of getting people information, employment documentation and employment processes right the first time. A practical, solution-focused approach and the confidence to work independently. A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and continuous improvement. You'll be part of a collaborative team that is helping shape the future of People & Capability at Council.
