We are looking for a People, Safety and Compliance Coordinator to join our Hamilton team. About the role Working closely with our People, Culture and Wellbeing Manager, you’ll support our people, workplace safety and compliance activities. This is a practical role combining time on the floor with essential coordination and administration. You’ll engage with employees and managers, support workplace safety initiatives and help ensure actions are followed through to completion. Your responsibilities will include: Engaging with employees and supporting a positive safety culture Helping employees and managers use SafetyCulture, our main safety reporting platform Maintaining incident, hazard, training and compliance records Coordinating toolbox meetings and recording attendance and outcomes Following up actions arising from incidents, near misses and safety concerns Assisting with employee inductions and workplace training Completing Ministry of Justice checks Coordinating drug and alcohol testing Preparing standard employment documentation for review Booking interviews and supporting recruitment activities Maintaining accurate employee and compliance records Assisting with SOP development, reviews and document control Providing practical day-to-day people and compliance support About you You may already have experience in people and culture, health and safety or compliance—or you may be an experienced administrator ready to develop in these areas. You’ll bring: Strong organisational skills and attention to detail A practical, approachable and proactive working style Confidence communicating with employees and managers The ability to manage competing priorities and follow actions through Sound judgement and respect for confidentiality Strong written communication and record-keeping skills Confidence using and learning digital systems A genuine interest in people, workplace culture and safety Experience using SafetyCulture and knowledge of New Zealand employment or health and safety requirements would be advantageous, but training and support will be provided. This is an opportunity to develop broad experience across people, safety and compliance while working alongside an experienced People, Culture and Wellbeing Manager. At 25 hours per week , this role offers an excellent balance for someone looking for meaningful part-time work while remaining actively involved across the business.
