About The Role We are looking for a proactive, customer-focused Sales Coordinator to join our Commercial team and support the growth of our Business Events portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment where no two days are the same, and where your work helps deliver memorable experiences for clients, guests, and the wider community. In this key coordination role, you’ll be a vital connection between prospective clients and our internal event planning and operations teams. From responding to enquiries and preparing proposals through to coordinating site inspections, supporting contracts, and ensuring smooth handovers, you’ll help turn event ideas into outstanding venue experiences. About Us At Venues Ōtautahi, we proudly manage a portfolio of world-class community venues, including Christchurch Town Hall, Wolfbrook Arena, Hagley Oval, the Air Force Museum of New Zealand, and One New Zealand Stadium. These iconic venues host unforgettable events that create lasting social, cultural, environmental, and economic benefits for the region and our community. Through our work, we contribute to the vibrancy of Christchurch and the prosperity and wellbeing of the wider region, guided by a simple way of working: be aspirational, agile, and kind. What You’ll Do Act as the point of contact for allocated event enquiries, including corporate events, conferences, galas, weddings, and private functions. Support the sales process by preparing proposals, coordinating site inspections, managing documentation, and assisting with contracts and event handovers. Build strong client relationships and deliver responsive, professional service through the sales cycle. Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, AV partners, and event specialists to ensure client requirements are clearly understood and delivered. Use systems such as Momentus to maintain accurate information, track progress, and support seamless communication across the business. About You You’ll be an organised and effective communicator who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and keeping multiple priorities moving. You’ll bring strong attention to detail, confidence engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Experience in sales, events, venue management, or a related customer-facing environment will help you succeed in this role, along with confidence using Microsoft Office and event or CRM systems. If you’re ready to bring your coordination skills, customer focus, and love of events to a role that supports some of Christchurch’s most memorable experiences, we’d love to hear from you.
