Butchery Assistant

Service Foods Christchurch is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Butchery Assistant to join our morning shift. As part of our Butchery team, you will play a crucial role in daily operations, working closely with our skilled butchers to help deliver the finest meat products to our customers. Position snapshot Immediate start Location: Woolston, Christchurch Days: Monday to Saturday Your primary responsibility is to accurately package and prepare meat products to meet our strict quality and safety standards. Key Tasks Include: Packing and labelling meat products with precision and care Ensuring all products meet food safety and quality requirements Operating vac-pack and other equipment to wrap meat Preparing and organising orders for timely delivery Maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace Supporting meat preparation tasks (full training provided) Following all Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures Assisting with general butchery and operational duties You’ll be working in a temperature‑controlled environment, so comfort with chilled or freezer conditions is essential. The role also involves repetitive hand movements and some heavy lifting.
