The Role We are looking for a Senior Base Engineer to join our tight knit team in Queenstown! The focus of this role is to maintain and drive high quality engineering standards within the team, guide new engineers and provide technical expertise, support and coaching along with being the technical point of contact for complex customer queries. About the Job Work with the maintenance team to ensure a safety culture is promoted in all routine maintenance, on the job coaching and training to ensure safety and quality targets are met. Travel and maintenance and repair work on our customers helicopters at various locations around the South Island of New Zealand. Assist in the capacity of a Helicopter LAME for any maintenance or project work as required. Support engineers with technical queries to identify and resolve helicopter defects. Understand all relevant aircraft publications, company documentation, drawings and blueprints to ensure that information is interpreted and utilised correctly. Talk to customers, when needed, to answer technical queries and assist them with a solution. Train and perform on the job coaching with engineers in the maintenance team. Act as the Department lead for safety investigations as they arise and ensure all necessary parties are kept up to date. Actively drive a quality and compliance related focus within the team.3 About You Experienced LAME with ratings in BK117, AS355, group 2 rotorcraft, LTS101, RR250, Arriel Inspection Authorization Certification preferred 7+ years' experience working in an aviation engineering maintenance hangar In-depth knowledge of airworthiness and technical standards for all regulatory approvals held (NZCAA, FAA & EASA) Experience in successfully coaching, mentoring and training engineers Strong analytical and problem solving skills Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders Able to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to ensure the best outcomes for the business and for customers Safety focused and able to drive a safety culture within the team What we can offer you: Permanent full-time work, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week Any opportunities for overtime paid at Time and Half Competitive Salary ($80 - $90 per hour based on experience) $500 Employee Benefits card (Extraordinary) from three months service for healthcare Celebrations on Birthdays and Anniversaries Holiday Home access via Marram Trust Humanity Time - Volunteering time for charities Ongoing professional development to extend your knowledge and skills.
