Job Description The role Join us at Alpine Energy as a Trades Assistant and play a hands-on role in building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers South Canterbury. This role is all about creating safe, reliable access for electricity networks, working both independently and as part of a close-knit field team. As a Trades Assistant, you will: Create access for underground cabling through trenching and excavation Operate plant and machinery such as excavators and trucks Undertake manual labour including digging, hauling cable, carrying, and lifting What you’ll need Full, current New Zealand driver licence (class 2 and above preferred) At least 2 years’ experience operating heavy machinery Physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual labour safely Nice to haves Trade or tertiary qualification Previous experience in an electrical distribution business or the power industry Additional plant and class licence experience What we offer At Alpine we focus on creating a place where people genuinely want to come to work.
