Job Description The role Join us at Alpine Energy as a Line Mechanic and help power South Canterbury. We have an opportunity for a skilled professional to maintain, construct, and repair overhead electricity lines and equipment. You'll install poles, transformers, and switches, perform fault response, and ensure compliance. This is a permanent role based in Timaru, offering opportunities to grow your skills and make a real impact. The hourly rate for this role is $36.58 to $41.01 depending on experience. This is a full time role with a minimum of 30 hours a week (normal work week 40 hours). As a Line Mechanic in our Field team, you will: Maintain and construct overhead electricity lines and pole-mounted equipment Take the lead on network upgrades and help shape smarter ways to deliver power Operate equipment and perform network switching when authorised What you'll need EWRB Registration - Level 4 Line Mechanic (or equivalent), or at least three years relevant experience Strong focus on safety and teamwork Nice to haves NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 4 (Fault Response) NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 3 (Field Switching) PHC competency What we offer At Alpine we focus on creating a place where people genuinely want to come to work.
