Nurse Practitioner or Experienced Nurse Prescriber - Acute Care Clinic The Doctors Huapai & Waimauku Are you an experienced Nurse Practitioner who enjoys the pace and variety of acute primary care? We're looking for a confident clinician to join our growing Acute Care service, providing same-day appointment based and walk in assessment and treatment to patients with acute, conditions. Our Acute Care Clinics have become an important service for our patients, offering timely access to assessment and treatment while supporting continuity of care within general practice. About The Role You'll provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of patients presenting with acute illness and minor injuries, working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team of GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Prescribers, Registered Nurses, HCAs, and HIPs. The role offers an excellent balance of independence and collaboration, allowing you to utilise your advanced clinical skills while having the support of an experienced clinical team when required. This is a permanent position working 32 - 40 hours across 4 - 5 days per week from Monday-Friday. Common presentations include: Respiratory illness Urinary tract infections Skin infections Minor injuries and ACC presentations Abdominal pain Ear, nose and throat conditions Musculoskeletal injuries Childhood acute illness General same-day presentations Other About You We're looking for someone who: Is a registered Nurse Practitioner, or a very experienced Registered Nurse Prescriber with demonstrated autonomous practice. Holds a current APC with the Nursing Council of New Zealand. Has excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Is confident managing acute presentations independently. Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with colleagues and patients. Thrives in a busy environment while remaining calm, organised and patient focused.
