Position:Painter Assistant
\n Location: Auckland
\n Job Type: Full Time-30 to 40 hours
\n Salary: $25 to $30 per hour

Responsibilities:

Tasks involve:

• Setting up scaffolding and ladders, and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering

• Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces

• Follow painters directives to prepare and mix paints

• Assist in applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays

• Cleaning equipment and work areas

• May do some basic repair work, like loading, unloading and general labour work.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment
\n Work independently or as part of a team to complete jobs on time

Requirements:

Knowledge of painting materials and techniques would be advantageous.
\n Physical stamina and manual dexterity
\n Attention to detail and commitment to quality
\n Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

Able to lift heavy loads.

Able to work on weekends

Preferred:

Familiarity with safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
\n Ability to estimate materials and time for jobs
\n Experience in drywall repair, wallpaper removal, or decorative finishes would be an advantage
