operations Manager

A & T Works Ltd is looking for an Operations Manager to run our commercial cleaning operation across Timaru and Temuka. If you know cleaning inside out and you're good with people, this is your chance to run the show.

Key Responsibilities
\n Plan and oversee day to day cleaning operations.
\n Work alongside our team, supervise staff, and help with recruitment and onboarding as we grow.
\n Train and upskill staff to meet company and health and safety standards.
\n Coordinate with clients on repairs and maintenance.
\n Conduct site checks, manage KPIs, and sort out problems as they come up.
\n Manage supplies and chemical usage in line with safety regulations.
\n Handle Health and Safety compliance on site.
\n Deal directly with clients and represent the company well.
\n Look for ways to grow the business and bring in new contracts.
\n Key Requirements

• A Diploma or Bachelor degree in management qualification will be require for this role and training will be provided for the right candidates.
\n
• At least six months management experience in any field will be advantage but not necessary as On-Job-Training will be provided for the right candidates.
\n
• Leadership and organizational abilities Interpersonal and communication skills Problem-solving attitude
\n
• Flexibility to work in shifts
\n

\n Solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations and cleaning standards, or relevant study covering H&S compliance.
\n Good people skills, approachable, and a natural leader.
\n Comfortable training and onboarding staff.
\n Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe use.
\n Good admin and time management skills.
\n Fluent English, written and spoken.
\n Full NZ or overseas driving licence.

Other requirement
\n Ministry of Justice and NZ Police clearance required, must stay clear throughout employment.
\n Police vetting for shortlisted applicants.

\n Mandatory drug testing to maintain a drug-free workplace.
\n Permanent role, minimum 30 hours a week, weekends and evenings required.
\n $30 to $35 an hour depending on experience and qualifications.
