Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen operations of
\n our South Indian restaurant. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all
\n aspects of food preparation, maintaining authentic South Indian flavours and quality
\n standards, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations while complying
\n with food safety regulations.

Job Description

\n

• Plan, organise, and supervise daily kitchen operations.
\n • Prepare and oversee the preparation of authentic South Indian dishes, including
\n dosas, idlis, vadas, biryanis, curries, seafood, vegetarian dishes, and traditional
\n snacks.
\n • Ensure consistency, quality, taste, and presentation of all menu items.
\n • Develop seasonal and special menus in consultation with management.
\n • Develop Catering business
\n • Maintain portion control and minimise food wastage.
\n • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff.
\n • Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties effectively.
\n • Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
\n • Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen.
\n • Manage stock levels and order supplies as required.
\n • Liaise with suppliers and negotiate pricing where appropriate.
\n • Monitor food costs and implement cost-control measures.
\n • Conduct regular stocktakes and minimise wastage.
\n • Maintain high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.
\n • Respond to customer feedback regarding food quality and presentation. • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and standards. •Minimum 30 hours per week and Annual Package of $65k

Essential Requirements

\n

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in South Indian Kitchen
\n • Extensive knowledge of authentic South Indian cuisine.
\n • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
\n • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
\n • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
\n • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
