\nWe’re working with a well-established and highly regarded business within the food processing sector, currently seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Canterbury.\n
\nThis is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping operations running efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.\n
About the Role \n
\nWorking as part of a close-knit maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for the ongoing reliability and performance of plant and equipment, ensuring production runs smoothly.\n
\nKey responsibilities:\n

    \n
  • Preventative and reactive maintenance across plant and equipment
  • \n
  • Fault-finding and diagnostics on mechanical systems
  • \n
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • \n
  • Assisting with installation, upgrades, and commissioning of machinery
  • \n
  • Welding stainless steel to food processing standards
  • \n
  • Working collaboratively with production and maintenance teams
  • \n
  • Providing budget estimates for projects when requested
  • \n
About You \n
\nTo be successful in this role, you will have:\n
\n
    \n
  • A trade qualification (or working towards) in fitting/turning or mechanical engineering
  • \n
  • Experience in manufacturing or food processing environments
  • \n
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • \n
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance and reliability-based maintenance
  • \n
