Principal Geotechnical Engineer WSP has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Napier business , with flexibility to be based in Napier, Taupō or Gisborne . This is a key role where you’ll provide technical direction, strengthen client relationships, and help grow our geotechnical capability across the region. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions across a diverse project portfolio – spanning infrastructure, land development, and natural hazard mitigation. While bringing together technical expertise and client leadership to drive both project success and business growth. You will Lead and deliver complex geotechnical projects from investigation through to design and construction observation Provide expert technical advice across areas such as: Roads and infrastructure Landslides and slope stability River scour Residential and commercial foundations Conduct and oversee site investigations, analysis, reporting and design Undertake peer reviews and ensure compliance with NZ standards and industry best practice Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for growth Lead or contribute to proposals, bids and work programmes Support technical development, innovation and continuous improvement within the team About you Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) either Geotechnical or Civil 10+ years’ experience in geotechnical engineering consultancy Strong experience in project delivery and management #J-18808-Ljbffr
