Design Manager - Lead Design, Delivery and Buildability About the company This specialist design, manufacturing and installation business delivers architectural façade, screening and balustrade systems across major residential, retirement living and mixed-use developments. Its internally developed modular systems combine strong architectural design with practical, efficient installation. With a growing pipeline of high-value projects, the business is investing in stronger design leadership, systems and delivery capability. About the role You’ll lead a team of seven designers and engineers, while coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, clients and construction teams. This is a hands‑on leadership position. You’ll provide direction, challenge poor performance when required and ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, buildable and delivered within agreed timeframes and budgets. You’ll oversee projects from concept and PS1 documentation through shop drawings, fabrication and site installation. You’ll also connect design with sales, manufacturing, project delivery and site teams. What’s on offer Ver competitive remuneration package. Key responsibilities Lead, coach and manage the internal design team Allocate resources and maintain delivery against budgets and deadlines Review and sign off design, shop, fabrication and installation drawings Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants and clients Manage RFIs, design changes, variations and documentation Improve QA, workflows, document control and design systems Reduce rework and strengthen buildability across projects What you will need You’ll be a confident people leader with strong architectural, engineering or construction knowledge. You can hold difficult conversations, set clear expectations and keep a technical team accountable. Experience within façades, aluminium systems, balustrades, architectural metalwork, HVAC, building services or specialist subcontracting would be highly relevant.
