World Buskers Festival 2027 – Call for Artists World Buskers Festival 21 - 31 January 2027 We're searching for bold, brilliant and unforgettable artists to transform the streets, venues and public spaces of Ōtautahi Christchurch into a celebration of creativity, laughter and immersive experiences. Calling buskers, street performers, circus artists, cabaret performers, comedians, magicians, dancers, theatre makers, variety artists, musicians, and makers of mischief from Aotearoa and around the world. Whether you perform on a street pitch, captivate audiences in a theatre, roam through crowds, create immersive experiences, or bring communities together through music, movement and play, we want to hear from you. Street Buskers - Solo and ensemble performances for the streets (30–45 minutes) Ticketed Venue Shows - Full-length shows, circus, cabaret, comedy, theatre, music and variety (60–75 minutes) Free Street Programming - Roaming acts, pop-up performances, interactive installations, games, parades and public activations Family & Community Experiences - Engaging, accessible and all-ages entertainment Who should apply? Artists who can entertain, engage, surprise and inspire. We welcome performers from all cultures, backgrounds and disciplines, and are particularly interested in hearing from Tangata Moana artists as we continue to build a programme that reflects the unique spirit and diversity of Aotearoa.
