Job Description We're looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Facilities & Sustainability Manager to take ownership of our buildings, security and facilities operations across New Zealand. You'll be the go-to person ensuring our sites are safe, compliant, well-maintained and fit for a fast-moving freight business — from Warrants of Fitness to security systems, contractor management to office fit-outs. What you'll be responsible for: Responsible for coordinating and overseeing contractors for ongoing maintenance, repairs and improvements to the Mondiale VGL buildings nationwide and Manual Handling Equipment (MHE). Coordinate contractor inductions for contractors engaged with. Overseeing facility maintenance, liaison with landlord & external contractors. Building Management as required, including renovation, upgrading and maintenance, interior & exterior. Maintain building Warrant of Fitness for all Mondiale VGL NZ sites. Plan, source and coordinate the purchase of additional or replacement furniture as required or the utilisation of existing furniture. Coordinate and support office interior design upgrades. Office Management & Procurement, ensure budgets are withheld and always look for the most cost-effective solution for all office supplies and other ad hoc expenses. Security Maintaining the integrity of the security system. Review and maintain accuracy of security locations. Issue security cards to new team members as required and deactivate lost cards and departing team members promptly. Update and maintain a response plan for after-hours security incidents. Monitor exception and incident reports from the security system, investigating and escalating incidents of concern to the appropriate manager. Monitor and assess the suitability of security equipment such as cameras, planning an upgrade programme as required. Investigate and recommend additional suitable security measures to the senior leadership team. Qualifications What you bring: 3+ years, sound knowledge of the freight industry and a facilities/sustainability background Sharp attention to detail with a methodical, proactive approach to problem-solving Confidence liaising with contractors, landlords and senior stakeholders alike Intermediate MS Office skills and NZQA qualification (post-tertiary highly regarded) High integrity, discretion and the judgement to make sound calls under pressure Additional Information You’ll join a collaborative, hands‑on team where safety truly drives success.
