Project Manager Ruruku Wellington CBD Full-time Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year Help shape the future of New Zealand's schools Ruruku is a growing Wellington-based construction consultancy specialising in project management, design, quantity surveying and strategic property planning. We deliver a diverse range of projects throughout New Zealand, with a strong focus on the education sector. From roofing and accessibility upgrades through to major redevelopment projects, we work alongside schools, consultants, contractors and the Ministry of Education to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes. We're looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our Wellington team. This role is ideal for someone with solid New Zealand construction experience who enjoys taking ownership of projects, building strong relationships, and working as part of a collaborative, high-performing team. Before you apply To be considered for this role, you must: Have at least 3 years' experience managing construction projects in New Zealand . Have experience delivering commercial, education or public sector construction projects. Hold a construction-related tertiary qualification (or equivalent industry experience). Have a current legal right to work in New Zealand. We are not currently sponsoring work visas. Have excellent written and verbal English communication skills. About the role As a Project Manager, you'll manage multiple construction projects from initial scoping through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard. Your responsibilities will include: Managing project scope, budgets, programmes and quality. Coordinating consultants through the design process. Preparing procurement documentation and managing contractor tender processes. Administering construction contracts throughout delivery. Leading project meetings and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Managing project risks, RFIs, variations and defects. Monitoring budgets, programmes and preparing regular project reports. Working closely with our in-house design and quantity surveying teams to deliver integrated project solutions. Contributing to the ongoing improvement of our systems, templates and project delivery processes. About you You'll be someone who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership of your work, and builds strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors. Ideally you'll also have: A sound understanding of NZ construction contracts, procurement and consenting processes. Strong organisational, communication and time management skills. Confidence managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong computer skills and experience using cloud-based project management software. Experience delivering Ministry of Education or other public sector projects would be an advantage, but is not essential.
