NO OVERSEAS BASED CANDIDATES please INTRO As a ‘Regional Health & Safety Advisor’ you will be reporting to the Health & Safety Manager and be responsible via training and feedback, to implement, monitor and audit compliance with the company’s health, safety and environmental policies and procedures. Some local travel (Auckland Central/South) will be involved to undertake inspections, reviews, investigations and meetings KEY TASKS People and Capability Facilitating briefings and training sessions to employees, subcontractors and clients’ representatives when required Communicating health and safety policies, procedures, resources and Employee Handbook via team and toolbox meetings Promoting consultation and discussion on health, safety and environmental issues Role modelling leadership in health and safety management Participating in the company’s Health & Safety Group etc Customers, Communities and Stakeholders Enjoy and demonstrate understanding of the community our client works in and apply in-depth knowledge of customers and company contracts to provide high quality outcomes Audits and Site Inspections Carry out and oversee health and safety auditing procedures Follow up on non-compliance reported through site inspections carried out by operations teams Participate in management systems audits, inspections, investigations and meetings Compliance & Risk Participate in the implementation of the Health and Safety Plan by assisting with regular reviews, assessing any new equipment hazards etc Oversee the work done by staff, and subcontractors (includes induction support) and refer non-compliance'sto the staff members’ line managers, and H & S Manager Be involved in health, safety, quality, environment and risk initiatives Assume management of a site if any accident/incident, ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of the team are always a priority Maintain a thorough knowledge of Health & Safety legislation. General Communication with your Health & Safety team members and your Manager; also as practicable, the Ops team, subcontractors and clients Commercial acumen, be financially aware of costs under your control, etc YOU Will have worked at the level of a Health & Safety Advisor Have a real passion for H & S, environmental issues and compliance Whilst technical capability is important…attitude, engagement and team fit are equally critical ie you will enjoy building multiple strong relationships, see conflict as opportunities, read situations quickly and be a composed and focused listener Tertiary studies in health and safety management or environmental science is a plus BUT training and development can be supported. 2 years’ in a Quality Management Systems positionin maintenance or construction would be a plus but not essential Have a Full Drivers Licence Full NZ legal work rights as this is a permanent role (not Visas please) OFFER A negotiable salary range (six figures) depending on the length of your experience as a Health & Safety Advisor (ie if you have limited experience as an Advisorbut know the Property repair sector, please still apply) Opportunity to progress within the companies H & S team Full use of a company vehicle (a small sedan, this includes personal local weekend use) Flexible hours ie 7am to 4pm, to 8am to 5pm, with an hour for lunch (no WFH – as you need to be available for field visits ie possibly 4-5x a week) Fantastic job security as such a large business across NZ Wellbeing allowance Branded comfortable clothing available (eg T-shirts, Jackets) Professional development and more! #J-18808-Ljbffr
