Regional Manager

Lead the growth of our Waikato operation. Asset Engineering is an established and growing engineering company specialising in structural steel, architectural metalwork and bespoke fabrication solutions across commercial and industrial sectors. As we continue to expand, we’re establishing a permanent Waikato operation and are looking for an exceptional Regional Manager to lead it. This isn’t your typical management role. You’ll be joining an established business with experienced systems, processes and support already in place. You’ll work alongside the directors and existing leadership team to grow our Waikato presence, strengthen customer relationships and deliver outstanding projects throughout the region. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to be part of something long-term. For the right person, there is a genuine pathway to becoming a shareholder after demonstrating their leadership, commitment and ability to grow the region. About the Role As Regional Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the Waikato operation while working closely with our head office support team. You’ll oversee customer relationships, project delivery, workshop and site teams, while helping identify and secure new opportunities within the region. Our experienced drafting, estimating, project support and finance teams will provide the backing you need, allowing you to focus on leading people, building relationships and delivering successful projects. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors. Lead and manage the Waikato fabrication and installation teams. Oversee projects from enquiry through to completion. Prepare estimates and quotations for smaller local projects and variations. Work alongside our estimating team on larger tenders. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard. Identify opportunities for business growth throughout the region. Recruit and develop the local team as the branch continues to grow. Maintain the high standards and reputation Asset Engineering is known for. About You We’re looking for someone who naturally builds trust and enjoys working with people. You’ll be a confident communicator, commercially minded and capable of leading both people and projects. A background in structural steel, fabrication, engineering or commercial construction. Experience managing projects and site teams. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. The ability to estimate and price smaller works. A practical, hands‑on approach to solving problems. Excellent organisational skills. A high level of professionalism and integrity.
