CCB NZ runs a wholesale and retail banking business, offering integrated and high quality financial services including corporate and commercial loans, home loans, trade finance & FX, Treasury facilities and other financial services for cross-border transactions for Chinese and New Zealand enterprise. We are seeking a talented Operations and Settlement Consultant to join and support the CCB NZ Operations Team. Job Description & Responsibilities Undertake Treasury settlement and operations, including FX, Money Market, Bonds, and Derivatives. Work closely with the Treasury team to monitor cash movements, branch liquidity across Nostro accounts, and funding requirements. Manage the opening, maintenance, and reconciliation of Nostro, Vostro, and custodian accounts. Oversee customer deposits, payments, clearing, SWIFT message investigations, and daily reconciliations. Contribute to the development and enhancement of SWIFT, payment, and clearing systems (e.g., MX format, NZD/RMB clearing). Process and provide operational and settlement support for Retail Home Loans, Commercial/Wholesale Loans, and Trade Finance (including related fees). Respond promptly and professionally to requests and inquiries from customers, counterparties, and internal teams. Identify and resolve operational issues efficiently, escalating them promptly to the Section Head and/or relevant departments. Collaborate with industry bodies, internal teams, Head Office (Beijing), overseas branches, and the CCB Fintech company on system testing, data analysis, reporting, new product launches, process improvements, and COB (Continuity of Business) / BCP testing. Ensure all transactions and reports are processed and settled accurately and in a timely manner. Implement operational and settlement policies to ensure accuracy and departmental efficiency. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various products to optimize daily workflows. Participate in ad-hoc projects as and when required. Key Requirements Experience: Three or more years of settlement, clearing, and payment experience within the banking/financial services industry, particularly in back-office operations. Education: A university degree, preferably in Business or Finance (preferred but not mandatory). Industry Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of retail and wholesale payment systems operating in New Zealand, including SWIFT, RTGS, CLS, NClear, SBI, and SCP. Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of settlement and clearing (particularly RMB and NZD clearing), SWIFT, and the MX format (ISO 20022). Account Management: Good knowledge of Nostro, Vostro, and custodian accounts is a distinct advantage. Industry Representation: Ability to represent CCB NZ on Payments NZ industry committees. Adaptability: Ability to quickly master new systems, products, and operational workflows. Core Skills: Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet strict deadlines and SLAs. Resilience: Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment. Teamwork: Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team, backed by strong problem-solving skills. Asset Class Expertise: Experience in Trade Finance, Home Loan, and Commercial Loan settlements is highly advantageous.
