Workshop Manager

Workshop Manager Tradestaff Christchurch is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to join a busy heavy transport engineering workshop. This hands-on leadership role combines workshop coordination, customer service, and team support, offering a great long-term opportunity with a well-established business. Location: Hornby, Christchurch Start date: Immediate Pay rate: $45–$55 per hour (depending on experience) What You'll Be Doing Overseeing the day-to-day operation of a busy heavy transport workshop Planning workflow and allocating jobs to maximise productivity Monitoring work in progress and workshop performance Preparing quotations and repair estimates Coordinating parts, suppliers, and subcontractors Providing customers with updates and exceptional service Supporting and mentoring workshop staff Maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and health and safety What We're Looking For Proven experience in a heavy transport engineering or similar workshop environment Strong knowledge of truck and trailer repairs, servicing, fabrication, or structural repairs Previous workshop leadership or team management experience Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills Confident balancing workshop operations with customer service Practical, hands-on approach and strong leadership skills Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test What's In It For You Weekly pay Monday to Friday role Long-term opportunity with a well-established engineering business Varied leadership role with a mix of workshop and customer-facing responsibilities Supportive team environment with opportunities to develop your career #J-18808-Ljbffr
