Are you an organised and competent Administrator looking for your next opportunity? Smart Environmental Ltd is seeking a new member to join the Thames-based Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team. Smart Environmental Limited works on behalf of local councils, businesses, and communities providing rubbish and recycling collections. Acquired by Blue Planet and with a large fleetof collection vehicles and line haul operations, our mission is to divert waste from landfill. About the role We're looking for an experienced Administrator to support our HSE team. This role is responsible for owning and managing the administration requirements of our Health, Safety and Environmentsystems and documentation. This is a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday role based in our Kopu Support Office. About you While the role sits within the Health, Safety & Environment team, prior HSE knowledge is not essential. It is your solid administrative experience, strong organisational skills, and confidence in managing your own workload that we are looking for. The HSE team often works remotely and across multiple locations, so at times you may be the only HSE team member in the office, working independently while staying connected and communicating regularly with the wider team online. What we're looking for: Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Strong written and verbal communication skills Confidence building effective relationships with staff at all levels of the business The ability to work comfortably with systems and follow established processes Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands Solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint Key responsibilities Coordinating onboarding for new workers and maintaining induction and training records Administration of HSE systems Supporting staff with HSE system queries, Troubleshooting issues, and helping maintain effective working systems Managing the HSE team email inbox, prioritising requests, and responding to queries promptly and professionally Accurate data entry and ongoing database maintenance Document control, version management, and template updates Compiling and reviewing HSE data for monthly reports and dashboards Scheduling and tracking health monitoring, training, and other compliance activities Supporting internal audits, inspections, and follow-up of corrective actions Assisting with HSE communications, notices, and general team support What we offer Based in our Kopu support office, you’ll report to a supportive, experienced (and good-humoured) manager who is always happy to answer questions and provide clarity, while encouraging youto take ownership of your responsibilities and work confidently on your own.
