Due to internal movement, we are seeking a Senior Project Manager / Lead on a 10-month fixed-term basis, based in Christchurch or Wellington. We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager / Lead to help drive the successful delivery of UniMed’s strategic transformation programme. This role connects strategy to execution and ensuring projects are well-governed, clearly planned and delivered with discipline, quality and care. Working closely with senior leaders, project sponsors and teams across the business, you’ll lead end-to-end project delivery within UniMed’s governance framework, helping to turn strategic priorities into structured initiatives that deliver measurable benefits for our Members, people and organisation. This role also provides leadership for a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts. In this role, you will: Lead the planning and delivery of strategic transformation projects from initiation through to business-as-usual handover Manage project scope, budgets, risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations Partner with senior leaders and project sponsors to ensure strong governance and clear decision-making Coach and support project teams to apply practical, effective project management practices Lead, develop and support a team of project professionals across project management and testing You’re an experienced project leader who brings structure, clarity and momentum to complex work. You’re confident working with senior stakeholders, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and able to influence others through practical advice, sound judgement and trusted relationships. You’ll bring: 5+ years’ project management experience, ideally in business transformation, technology or process improvement environments A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, along with project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 Experience establishing or leading high-performing project teams Demonstrated experience in technology delivery and digital programs of work, with experience in data platforms and CRM roll outs beneficial Strong planning, governance, risk management and quality assurance skills The ability to build credibility, influence stakeholders and communicate clearly with different audiences Experience in insurance, financial services or regulated environments would be an advantage At UniMed, we’re on a mission to create the happiest, healthiest workplace in Aotearoa – and we'd love for you to be part of that journey.
