Job Description About the role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to join our Retail Team. Reporting to the Director Retail, this 2IC role will support safe, efficient, and high-performing operations across our stores, warehouse, logistics, and administration functions. This is a varied leadership role combining strategic planning with hands-on operational management. You will work with Store Managers, Assistant Managers, volunteers, and support teams to strengthen retail performance and deliver a great experience for our donors, customers, and volunteers. Key responsibilities include: Deputising for the Director Retail as required. Leading the retail administration, warehouse, and logistics teams. Managing Health and Safety across the retail network, including compliance, reporting, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Supporting and developing Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers. Monitoring retail financial performance, preparing budgets, and identifying opportunities to improve revenue while managing costs. Driving operational improvements, implementing change initiatives, and developing retail policies and procedures. Overseeing warehouse operations, stock flow, recycling, and donor logistics. Managing fleet operations, delivery and collection bookings, and logistics systems. Building and maintaining strong relationships with volunteers and community organisations. Desired Skills and Experience What we are looking for Experienced Project Manager preferably with recognised PM qualification eg PRINCE2 Demonstrated successful experience in practical day to day retail management over multiple sites Demonstrated problem identification and resolution skills, with the ability to think strategically and act operationally Excellent interpersonal, relationship management, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills What we offer: A genuine commitment to equity, cultural responsiveness, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi 5 days of carers leave and bereavement leave A wellbeing payment and an annual wellbeing day Permanent fulltime position based in Newlands but moving to Ngauranga.
