Job Description
New World Churton Park is looking for a capable andmotivated Produce Supervisor to join our Fresh Foods team. This role reports directly to our Fresh Foods Manager andacts as their second in charge, with a strong focus on the daily operation andpresentation of our Produce department. This is not a standalone Produce Manager position. The FreshFoods Manager retains overall accountability for the department, while theProduce Supervisor leads daily execution, supports the team, and ensures thedepartment is ready for customers. About the role You will be responsible for helping deliver a Producedepartment that is fresh, full, clean, well presented, correctly ticketed, andready before peak trade. You will work closely with the Fresh Foods Manager toorganise the team, maintain availability, protect product quality, controlwaste, and create a Produce offer that gives customers confidence from themoment they enter the store. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the Produce team during allocated shifts Setting clear daily priorities and following up completion Ensuring key Produce lines are available before peaktrading periods Maintaining high standards of freshness, quality,rotation, presentation, and ticketing Supporting ordering, stock control, stock rotation, andinventory accuracy Monitoring waste, markdowns, and product handling Coordinating replenishment and department recovery Supporting seasonal displays, promotional activity,Produce relays, and Fresh theatre Coaching team members in real time and addressing poorstandards early Ensuring food safety, health and safety, and cleaningrequirements are followed Providing clear handovers, raising issues early, andbringing evidence of completed actions Acting as the Fresh Foods Manager when required What success looks like Success in this position means: Customers consistently see fresh, high quality Produce Top selling lines are available when customers want them The department is ready before peak trade Waste and markdowns are controlled The team understands the daily plan and works with pace Standards are maintained without constant follow up fromsenior management Issues are raised early and resolved quickly The Produce department contributes positively to salesgrowth, basket size, and customer experience About you You may already be working as a Produce Supervisor, seniorProduce assistant, department second in charge, or experienced Fresh Foods teammember who is ready for greater responsibility. You will bring: Previous supermarket, retail, Produce, or Fresh Foodsexperience Strong product quality and presentation standards The ability to lead a team and give clear direction Good organisation, pace, and attention to detail Confidence handling stock, ordering, rotation, and waste A calm and practical approach when trade becomes busy The ability to coach people and hold standards A willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and peaktrading periods A customer focused mindset and pride in delivering astrong Fresh offer Leadership experience is preferred, but we will considerapplicants with strong Produce experience who are ready to step up.
