Job Description

We're proud to be partnering with Harris Tate Lawyers as they continue to grow their employment law practice in Tauranga. This is an exciting opportunity for an Employment Lawyer (3+ PQE) to join a firm with a strong and established client base, while also playing a key role in growing the practice as it continues to expand. With high-quality work, genuine flexibility, and professional development opportunities, this is a role where you can build a long-term career and make a real impact. About the Role The role offers a varied mix of advisory, dispute resolution, and litigation work. You'll work closely with an established client base, managing matters from initial instruction through to resolution, while also having the opportunity to help grow and shape the employment law practice as it develops. Key responsibilities include: Drafting and reviewing employment agreements, workplace policies, and contractor arrangements. Providing guidance on disciplinary processes, performance management, restructures, and redundancies. Conducting and advising on workplace investigations. Managing personal grievance matters and other employment disputes. Representing clients in mediations, Employment Relations Authority matters, and Employment Court proceedings where required. Building and maintaining strong client relationships through practical, commercially focused advice. Contributing to the ongoing growth and development of the firm's employment law practice. About You To be successful, you'll have a minimum of 3 years' PQE practising employment law in New Zealand and hold, or be eligible to obtain, a current practising certificate. You will bring strong technical employment law knowledge, excellent drafting and advocacy skills, and the ability to manage files independently. Just as importantly, you'll be relationship-focused, commercially minded, and committed to providing exceptional client service. What's on Offer In return, you'll join a respected Bay of Plenty firm that genuinely values its people. You'll enjoy: Competitive salary commensurate with experience. High-quality employment law work and an established flow of existing matters. The opportunity to grow and further develop the employment law practice. Flexible working arrangements and a strong focus on work-life balance. A collaborative and supportive team environment. Ongoing professional development and mentoring. A clear pathway toward Directorship for the right person. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your employment law career, work alongside experienced professionals, and play a meaningful role in the growth of a successful and well-regarded regional firm. #J-18808-Ljbffr
