About the Role The primary purpose of the role is to lead District Emergency Management service delivery and support response functions for the South Canterbury district. This includes giving effect to the strategic health outcomes of Health New Zealand by providing leadership to build sustainability, resilience and meaningful culturally safe connections, capabilities, assets, and services with the good of the New Zealand Public Health System in mind, now and for the future. About you You will be able to lead the district service, ensuring that people and financial resources are maximised in delivering effective services to the organisation. To ensure development, planning and implementation of emergency management systems and engagement strategies at a district level, including reporting on progress and ensuring objectives are achieved and aligned to regional and nationally priorotised objectives. You will provide subject matter expertise and support to the wider district leadership team. Supporting emergency threat assessments and response requirements. As well as providing a lead role in the district response to, and recovery from, emergencies with a health component. This includes providing local leadership and supporting the activation and running of a district Emergency Coordination Centre.
