With us, your ideas are valued, your professional growth is encouraged, and your work has a meaningful impact. About The Role We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, cranes, piling rigs, and telehandlers. This position is based at our Drury workshop, where you will also have regular exposure to various project sites. You will play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient project delivery through your hands-on expertise. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Key Responsibilities Include Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical faults Performing scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturer and company standards Responding to breakdowns both in the workshop and on-site Completing pre-start and post-service inspections along with accurate job card documentation Supporting plant compliance, certifications, and audits Collaborating closely with operations teams to minimize downtime To Be Successful In This Role, You Should Possess A relevant trade qualification in Heavy Diesel or Automotive Engineering Proven experience with heavy civil or construction plant, including cranes, piling rigs, or other specialist civil equipment Strong skills in hydraulics, diesel mechanics, and electrical fault-finding A Class 2 or above driver's license Experience or ability in welding and fabrication Proficiency in reading service manuals and schematics Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure safe and effective collaboration across our teams and job sites A willingness and ability to travel to project sites across New Zealand as needed We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, can work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Occasional after-hours breakdown support and travel to project sites will be required.
