Device Category Manager

This pivotal position leads and manages assigned categories of medical devices used in public hospitals. You’ll play a central role in driving smarter investment decisions, improving value for money, and supporting a nationally consistent approach to contracting medical devices. In this role you will: Drive national impact by contributing to the development of a coordinated approach to managing therapeutic medical devices for hospital use. Unlock better value by identifying and leading opportunities to get the best value and health outcomes from the medical devices we purchase. Manage your category portfolio , including planning, horizon scanning, and aligning with clinical and sector trends. On a day to day basis you’ll be developing commercial strategies for medical devices, negotiating contracts, and engaging with suppliers, clinicians, consumer groups, and other key stakeholders associated with your categories. Strengthen supplier relationships through effective contract management. Collaborate and lead , supporting team priorities and contributing to broader organisational goals. This is a Wellington-based role. The salary range for this position is $105,748 - $142,814. Most new starters are typically appointed up to the midpoint of the range, depending on the knowledge, skills and experience they bring to the role.
