The Role We are looking for an experienced Earthworks Operator to join our construction team in Matamata. This is a full-time, wage-based position offering consistent work, job security, and the opportunity to be part of a large-scale, high-quality development. Working alongside an experienced team, you will undertake a variety of earthworks and site maintenance tasks that contribute directly to the ongoing growth of our village. Key Responsibilities Excavation and sub-soil preparation Road undercutting and formation Stripping and preparation of house pads Excavation around completed homes for landscaping works Operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance of machinery and vehicles Maintenance of access roads, temporary car parks, and site yards General site upkeep, including sweeping roads and accessways Assisting the Earthworks Manager and Project Manager as required What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you will have: A current full New Zealand Driver Licence with the appropriate class endorsements Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsement At least 1–2 years' excavator operating experience The ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy construction environment A strong work ethic and a willingness to help where needed A positive attitude and reliable attendance Hours This is a full-time position with 44+ hours per week .
