At Patersons, our engineers play a central role in delivering these outcomes. We are looking for a Senior Land Development Engineer to help lead significant projects across the region, like Northlake, Three Parks, and Alpine Meadows. This role will suit someone who enjoys leading projects from early feasibility through to construction completion, working closely with clients and a multidisciplinary team to turn good ideas into well-designed neighbourhoods. The role You will lead subdivision and land development projects across Wānaka and Central Otago, guiding them from concept through consenting, detailed design and construction. Recent projects include major master-planned communities such as Northlake, the large mixed-use Three Parks development, and residential neighbourhoods including Alpine Meadows. Your work will involve: Leading land development projects from feasibility through to completion. Civil engineering design including earthworks, stormwater and wastewater infrastructure, and roading. Using 12d for modelling and design. Preparing engineering documentation, specifications and technical reports. Managing NZS3910 contracts and contractor procurement. Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams. Maintaining strong relationships with clients, councils and contractors. You will also provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to the continued growth of our engineering capability. About you You are likely to bring: At least 8–10 years’ experience in land development engineering, including experience leading projects and managing construction contracts. A relevant surveying or engineering qualification. Strong knowledge of NZ land development standards and consent processes. Experience using 12d design software. The ability to lead projects while remaining technically hands-on. Confidence working with clients, councils and project partners. Most importantly, you enjoy working collaboratively and take pride in delivering well-considered engineering outcomes.
