Brain Injury Nurse Specialist – Part-Time Registered Nurse – Neuro / TBI Experience Leading Brain Injury Rehabilitation Provider Professional Development Opportunities Looking to advance your nursing career? We’re seeking a Nurse Specialist to join our team. ABI Rehabilitation is a leading service provider for clients with moderate to severe acquired brain injuries in the North Island. We have a vacancy for a qualified senior nurse for approximately 24 hours per week as a Brain Injury Nurse Specialist based in Rangitikei (Palmerston North preferred). The primary focus of this role is assessing patients and coordinating services to ensure timely transition from the hospital to intensive rehabilitation. This includes providing information and support to family-whānau, liaising with ABI intensive services, and providing specialist advice to hospital staff. This role involves travel between regional hospitals in central and the lower North Island, so would be well-suited to someone with flexibility. The ideal candidate is someone who can easily build relationships with hospital staff and is proactive to ensure great outcomes for clients. Essential Skills At least three years’ experience in a neuro setting (e.g. Neurosurgery, Stroke, AT&R) Current Registered Nurse Annual Practicing Certificate Advanced assessment and clinical reasoning skills Preferred qualifications at post-graduate level Expert management of interpersonal relationships across disciplines Strong organisational and time management skills We offer a competitive salary to public hospital Senior Nursing rates, with professional and personal development, and the opportunity to work within a great team.
