About Us |Mōmātou The position sits within the Regulatory and Identity Services Branch , which oversees three key regulatory systems: Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Gambling Regulation Digital Safety and Investigations (including anti-spam and censorship) The branch operates as a risk-based regulator , focused on reducing harm and ensuring New Zealand communities are safe, resilient, and thriving. The role |Tetūnga The Advisor, Digital Safety supports the delivery of Digital Safety priorities by providing research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and coordination across programmes and initiatives. The role contributes to reducing harm in the digital environment by supporting evidence-based decision-making, facilitating effective collaboration with stakeholders, and ensuring the timely delivery of briefings, reporting, governance activities, and official correspondence. What you bring |Nōuterourou Ideally you will have experience working in complex, collaborative environments where you have successfully supported projects, initiatives, or programmes that achieved measurable outcomes. You will be able to demonstrate robust analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to research, interpret, and synthesise complex information, including legislation and regulatory material, to support sound decision‑making. Familiarity with and strong interest in the digital world, including basic knowledge of major digital platforms and an awareness of digital harm (particularly as it relates to the core areas of responsibility for Digital Safety and Identity Investigations) would be a distinct advantage. Please note this role requires the ability to obtain police vetting and credit clearance.
