Youth Leadership Intern: Co-design & Event Delivery

Time commitment: 8–12 hours per week (including Tuesday 4:30pm-6:30pm ) Location: Christchurch Start date: Immediate Duration: 3 months (August–October) Time commitment: 8–12 hours per week (including Tuesday 4:30pm-6:30pm ) About the internship Join Action the Compassion , a youth leadership and wellbeing programme supporting rangatahi to co-design and deliver a youth hui for secondary school students. We We take a "professional friend" approach , creating a safe and encouraging environment where rangatahi can explore ideas, build confidence and lead. You'll learn how to ask good questions, champion their ideas, and help turn their vision into reality. You'll be involved in: Supporting weekly after-school co-design sessions with rangatahi. Turning their ideas into resources for the hui Helping plan and deliver the September youth hui. Encouraging participation, creativity and collaboration. Assisting with event preparation and follow-up. We're looking for someone who: Enjoys working alongside young people and brings out the best in them. Is a great listener and relationship builder. Is positive, organised and reliable. Can commit to Tuesday afternoons after school. Is studying (or interested in) teaching, education, psychology, youth development, social work or a related field. What you'll gain Practical experience facilitating youth-led programmes. Experience in co-design, event delivery and community development. Mentoring from an experienced community organisation.
