Job Description

Maintenance Fitter Tradestaff Christchurch is looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a busy maintenance team working across food manufacturing sites in Christchurch. This is a hands‑on role maintaining and repairing production equipment to keep operations running efficiently. If you’re mechanically minded, enjoy fault finding, and want a long‑term opportunity with a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you. Location: Christchurch, Start date: Immediate, Pay rate: $34–$38 per hour (depending on experience) What You’ll Be Doing Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on food processing equipment Maintaining conveyors, bucket systems, boilers, and other production machinery Diagnosing mechanical faults and completing repairs Installing and replacing mechanical components Working safely in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment Completing maintenance records and reporting as required What We’re Looking For Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter or in a similar mechanical maintenance role Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills Experience maintaining industrial or food processing equipment Welding experience is an advantage but not essential Own tools are a bonus Strong commitment to health and safety Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test What’s In It For You Weekly pay Ongoing work for the right person Monday to Friday work with optional nights and weekend shifts available Opportunity to work longer hours if desired Supportive, close‑knit team with a great culture Why work with Tradestaff?
