Learning Support Assistant

Westminster Christian School is a State-Integrated Christian school located in Unsworth Heights on the North Shore. We consider ourselves one whanau and value teamwork and integrity in our staff. We currently have a vacancy for a learning support assistant to work with students in our school, which includes working 1-to-1 with a wonderful student who has high health needs. Monday - Friday, term-time only, 20 hours per week Duties: Personal care and mobility: Help with physical access (wheelchair), transitions around the school, and personal care as required Assist students with daily learning activities, engagement, and classroom integration under the teacher's direction Assist students in participating and staying on task Build trusting relationships with students and colleagues Collaborate with others in the team Assist teachers with administrative preparations from time to time Monitor students during breaks, transitions, and school events. The successful applicant must be willing to teach from a Biblical Worldview appropriate to the School's Special Character. Required skills and attributes: Patient, empathetic, and calm communication style. Ability to use initiative, think on your feet, and adapt resources.
