Job Description

Logistics Coordinator and Administration Ambrosia Nurseries is a well established, 40 year family owned New Zealand nursery based near Christchurch. We supply major retail accounts across the country and hold exclusive growing rights to some of the best genetics in the country. We\'re a tight knit team that backs each other in and gets things done. The role This role is structured in two phases. You\'ll start on a fixed term, part time contract for a defined handover period, working alongside our current Logistics Coordinator four days a week on slightly reduced hours (approximately 9am to 3pm) until 1 December, when our current Logistics Coordinator moves onto maternity leave. From 1 December you\'ll move into a full time maternity leave cover contract for the duration of her parental leave, standard practice for maternity cover positions. You\'ll be performing the full scope of the role from the outset, gaining experience that is genuinely transferable to future logistics and operations positions. You\'ll report directly to our Vendor Inventory Manager (VMI), who will support and guide you closely through both phases. What you\'ll be doing Coordinating inward and outward freight, including scheduling transport, tracking shipments and liaising with our carrier Supporting dispatch coordination day to day, helping the team hit delivery in full, on time targets Monitoring stock levels and helping keep inventory turning over efficiently Producing packing documentation and handling invoice and data entry handoffs through our ERP system Managing pallet and trolley hire (CHEP) to make sure supply always meets demand Handling customer claim resolution, including freight damage claims and the documentation behind them Assisting our sales team with customer phone calls to help optimise freight loads Working inside our enterprise ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central), a genuinely valuable skill that transfers to almost any logistics or operations role afterwards Who you\'ll work with You\’ll report to our Vendor Inventory Manager (VMI), who oversees vendor inventory and customer relations and will be your main point of contact and support throughout the role. Day to day you\’ll also work alongside our current Logistics Coordinator during handover, our dispatch and production teams, and our freight carrier and major retail accounts directly, so you\’ll build real supplier and customer facing experience, not just internal admin.
