Job Description
Jumpflex is a fast-growing New Zealand trampoline brand, selling across six markets worldwide — and we're looking for a CAD & Design Engineer to own the technical execution behind our product range. ABOUT THE ROLE This newly created role sits at the technical heart of our product development process — working closely with our Product Development & Sourcing Manager to take design concepts, new product ideas, and improvement opportunities and turn them into accurate SolidWorks models, factory-ready drawings, and Bills of Materials. Produce 3D renderings to support marketing assets and early-stage concepting. You'll play a key part in progressing designs to production, continuously improving our live range, and supporting tooling and manufacturing process decisions. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys the craft of precise, fast CAD work as much as they enjoy the occasional structural puzzle. You'll move between your workstation and the warehouse floor, assembling and testing physical prototypes, and you'll work alongside Customer Service, Marketing, and our factory partners to keep manuals, marketing assets, and production files accurate and up to date. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING SolidWorks Modelling – Build accurate 3D models from design concepts, sketches, and dimensions. Factory-Ready Drawings – Generate precise 2D and 3D technical drawings, tolerances, and specifications for factory quoting and production. Bills of Materials – Build and maintain accurate BOMs to support costing and production planning. Structural & Materials Input – Apply structural analysis and materials knowledge to frame geometry, joints, and strength. Tooling Support – Provide input into tooling, mould, and manufacturing process design. Manuals & Marketing – Produce step files and drawings that feed into product manuals and marketing assets. Prototyping – Assist with assembling, measuring, and testing physical prototypes in the warehouse. File Management – Maintain a clean, version-controlled CAD library across our product range. WHAT YOU'LL BRING You’ll bring 1–3 years' experience in a CAD or mechanical design role, with strong, fast SolidWorks skills and a working understanding of materials and structural fundamentals — steel structures, plastics, and load-bearing basics. Experience producing factory-ready drawings, tolerances, and BOMs for manufacturing is highly valued. You're precise, hands-on, and comfortable moving between screen and warehouse floor. You take pride in getting the technical detail right, enjoy solving practical problems, and are just as happy executing someone else's concept as you are spotting a smarter way to improve it. WHY JOIN JUMPFLEX? Fun, Supportive Culture – We believe in balancing great work with good times. Our team is passionate, down-to-earth, and loves a bit of friendly banter. World Class Workplace - A freshly renovated office space, centered around bringing the team together, collaboration and fun. Epic Extra-Curriculars – From lake days to team trips, we know how to have fun outside the office too. Fast Global Growth – Born in New Zealand, now becoming a household name in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany — and more to come. Values-Driven – Our “play for life” philosophy drives everything we do — building products that last, inspire movement, and bring joy. Weekly Team events – Recharge and connect with the team weekly. #J-18808-Ljbffr
