The Engagement Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, supporting and retaining volunteers for CVNZ’s International Volunteer programme – Nature Champions, plus coordinating CVNZ’s communications, and engagement activities. The role combines two workstreams: International volunteer programme administration, participant support and communications – and CVNZ’s social media management to grow participation, strengthen CVNZ’s brand, increase community engagement with conservation, and support donation and partnership objectives. About us Conservation Volunteers New Zealand (CVNZ) not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the protection and restoration of Te Taiao (the environment) in Aotearoa. With offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, each year we engage thousands of volunteers and participants in conservation work across the motu. Together, we have planted more than 2 million native trees, cleared over 800 hectares of invasive weeds, removed 105,000kg of rubbish, supported predator control and species monitoring, and helped hundreds of people move into full-time employment through our training and work programmes. Conservation Volunteers New Zealand is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Engagement Coordinator to help grow our Nature Champions international volunteer programme while leading our social media and digital communications. This varied role combines volunteer recruitment and participant support with content creation, website management, newsletters and storytelling to inspire people to take action for the environment. You’ll work closely with teams across Aotearoa, build relationships with recruitment partners, support Nature Champion volunteers from their first enquiry through to their conservation experience, and help showcase the incredible impact our volunteers make. Based at the historic Truby King House in Wellington, this is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate national team and play a key role in growing community engagement in conservation. Essential Qualifications & Experience Strong skills and experience in volunteer recruitment and management or similar community engagement. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel. Strong social media skills including audience growth content creation, analytics and reporting. Close attention to detail. Relationship building ability and customer service skills.
