Current vacancies Back Instructional Designer Southern Institute of Technology Southern Institute of Technology Invercargill Permanent Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our eLearning Team at the Invercargill Campus on a permanent, full-time basis. Key responsibilities include the development of engaging, learner-centred digital materials across in-person, online/distance, and blended programmes; and the provision of professional development opportunities for academic staff to support them with digital course design. Qualifications & Experience Required A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in instructional design (or related fields such as training or education). Proven experience in course design and development, especially for technology-enhanced learning. Proven experience with the use of content authoring tools (e.g., Articulate), multimedia software and Learning Management System platforms to develop digital learning assets. An understanding of the importance of Te Ao Māori and the utilisation of Māori pedagogies when designing for learning. Our ideal candidate will: Work collaboratively with academic staff and subject matter experts to create exceptional digital learning experiences. Have confidence using digital systems and collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft Teams). Have strong written communication skills and attention to detail. Lead instructional design projects end-to-end from conception to evaluation. Have exceptional time-management skills to ensure that project milestones are met.
