Haumaru Housing provides tenancy and asset management services to 1,527 rental units throughout the Auckland region for older adults. These homes are located in 63 villages across Auckland. We are looking for a compassionate, organised and community‑minded Community Manager to join our team. This role is the first point of contact for village matters and plays an important part in supporting tenants, resolving issues and helping create safe, connected communities. You will work onsite at villages connecting directly with tenants, families/whānau, service providers, community agencies and our internal facilities teams to respond to concerns, coordinate practical support and connect people with appropriate services. Success in this position requires someone who can balance empathy with structure, communicate respectfully, maintain accurate records and manage a varied portfolio of tenant and village matters in a calm and practical way. Key Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for village matters. Resolve tenant issues, conflicts and disputes. Support tenant wellbeing through regular engagement, support and connection. Assist with emergency or incident responses when required. Provide advice on tenant rights and responsibilities. Support tenancy establishment, tenancy reviews and tenancy exits. Identify hazards and coordinate maintenance activities. Work closely with the Facilities team to support safe and compliant housing . Promote independence, positive engagement and harmonious village communities. Support health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across the portfolio. You’ll thrive in this role if you bring genuine care for people, strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to work in a structured, practical and responsive way. Experience in social housing, aged care, healthcare, community or related roles. Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act. Strong stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills. Confidence using systems and maintaining accurate records. Demonstrated empathy and experience working with older people. A practical, organised approach combined with sound judgement and initiative. Current New Zealand Driver Licence. Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain). Receive a competitive salary and benefits. Company vehicle for work related use.
