As a result, we are looking for a Junior Electrical Design Engineer within our Power Systems Detailed Design Section, in our Auckland office. Reporting to the Industrial Section Lead, you will work within a team delivering high-voltage, low-voltage, and control system projects for conventional and renewable generation facilities, large industrial customers, and data centres. Your projects will encompass primary and secondary electrical design, protection, control systems, protection settings, earthing design, and load studies. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a diverse range of technically challenging projects and develop specialist power systems expertise alongside some of New Zealand’s leading electrical engineers. You will be a Junior Electrical Engineer (or recent graduate) who is looking to learn whilst supporting the delivery of power system projects. You will have: 1 to 3 years electrical design experience in New Zealand. An undergraduate qualification in electrical engineering from a NZ university or technical institution. Able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with other project stakeholders including the civil/structural team. Have a strong technical knowledge of typical NZ specifications, standards and codes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, suppliers and subcontractors. An analytical approach to problem solving. Citizenship, or a suitable visa to allow you to work in NZ Responsibilities include: Project and design management Producing high-quality detailed designs that leave no questions unanswered. Working with civil and structural engineers Managing projects, or actively contribute to successful project inputs, monitoring and outcomes. Delivering successful project documentation and outcomes required to deadlines and budget. Why join Ergo?
