Geotechnical Engineer

ENGEO’s crew in Queenstown is looking for an experienced geotechnical engineer to join our team. We’ve got a strong pipeline of work with a good mix of projects across construction - buildings and infrastructure - as well as geohazard assessment and mitigation. You’ll be leading your own projects, stretching your technical capability, and working on some genuinely interesting engineering challenges. The Job You’ll be getting stuck into complex geotechnical analysis and design - slope stability, retaining structures, foundation design, ground improvement - while also taking ownership of projects and leading them through to successful delivery. You’ll be working directly with clients and ensuring high-quality outcomes and commercially successful projects. Who are you? We’re looking for someone who enjoys both the technical challenge of geotechnical engineering and the satisfaction of delivering great projects. You’ll have a passion for geotechnical design and problem-solving and take pride in delivering robust engineering solutions that provide real value to clients. You will have an aptitude for working in a team-first environment and take pride in your work, as we strive to achieve the highest quality and consistency of deliverables. Our ideal candidate is someone who is hungry, humble, and smart and has: 7-10 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering Diverse exposure to a variety of complex engineering analyses The ability to lead projects and ensure their successful deliveryA sense of ownership over your work and commitment to quality A solutions-focused approach with an ability to deliver practical outcomes Knowledge of New Zealand ground conditions, standards, and best practices Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), or equivalent qualification CPEng - or actively working towards your chartership Life at ENGEO ENGEO is an award-winning, employee-owned consulting firm of more than 350 people worldwide, providing geotechnical, geological, environmental, and ground/surface water services.
