We're looking for a practical, proactive Building & Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our Building & Facilities function and ensure our hospital environment remains safe, compliant, efficient, and fit for purpose. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of outcomes, works well with people, and is equally comfortable coordinating contractors, planning maintenance programmes, solving operational issues, and supporting facility improvement projects. About the Role Reporting to the CEO, and with functional guidance from the Group facilities team, you will be responsible for the operational management of Allevia Kensington Hospital’s buildings, plant, equipment, infrastructure, grounds, and facilities services. Leading our Building & Facilities Maintenance Co‑Ordinator, you'll work closely with contractors, service providers, clinical leaders, and the wider Allevia Group Building & Facilities team to ensure our facilities support safe and uninterrupted healthcare delivery. Key areas of responsibility include: Facilities and asset maintenance Contractor and supplier management Building compliance and regulatory requirements Health, safety and PCBU obligations Building & Facilities related emergency preparedness and response Annual maintenance shutdown planning Projects relating to site improvement and redevelopment activities No two days are the same—and that's exactly what makes this role rewarding. What You'll Bring You may currently work in facilities management, building services, construction, engineering, property, healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality, or another operational environment where reliability, compliance, and service delivery are important. We're looking for someone who can effectively manage day-to-day operations while building strong relationships across the organisation. To be successful you'll have: Experience managing buildings, facilities, plant, equipment, or infrastructure assets Experience leading contractors, service providers, tradespeople, and/or maintenance teams Sound knowledge of New Zealand health and safety requirements and contractor management practices Knowledge of building compliance requirements, including Building Warrant of Fitness processes Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills The ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to operational issues Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Confidence using Microsoft Office and workplace technology systems A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to get involved We'd be especially interested in people with: Experience in healthcare, aged care, hospitality, or other service‑critical environments Trade, building services, facilities maintenance and/or management experience Exposure to refurbishment, redevelopment, capital works, or facilities projects would be highly desirable Why Join Allevia Kensington?
